G Architects Studio has created the Suetomi AOQ Cafe Stand in Kyoto, Japan.
This project is a small coffee stand in Kyoto that functions as a signboard to lead visitors to the nearby main store of Suetomi – a confectionery brand.
"The space stands out with its materiality. Soy sauce and ammonium chloride were used to patinate the copper facade," said G Architects Studio.
When closed at night, a backlit roll screen covering the stand turns it into a billboard.
This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
