Bloom Architecture has developed Takhmau Boarding School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This project is an educational facility that permits Cambodian young girls to access education.

Takhmau Boarding School combines a robust concrete skeleton with light and organic bamboo skin, protecting the inside from the harsh tropical sun while allowing for natural ventilation.

The building also responds to the existing built environment by positioning in a way to define a common courtyard and a planted alleyway to generate the right public space for the students and provide a green atmosphere from the entrance.

This project has been longlisted in the education project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
