Terroir has designed and developed its own new office in Hobart, Australia.
"This project, for [our] own office in Hobart, Tasmania, was an experiment that challenges the paradox of sustainable architecture," said Terroir.
The old wall finishes were removed, revealing beautiful 1960s framework carpentry and a series of glazed partitions and windows were all removed and reassembled into a new configuration.
The Hobart Office is small but is considered a manifesto for a different sort of practice that is more and more urgent to embrace in today's world.
"Its lessons are already informing larger projects in our quest to continue making places which support the interactions of people and place, but in a way that uses less resources than ever before," added Terroir.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace interior (small) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
