Jaime Hayon of Hayon Studio has created The Forum in the Hyundai department store in Daegu, South Korea.

The Hyundai Department Store Group reopened its Daegu branch in South Korea as 'The Hyundai Daegu' after a year of renovation.

Positioned as a cultural and shopping landmark, it represents the region with unique content and sophisticated design.

The standout feature is The Forum, designed by Jaime Hayon, a 4,565 square metre culture, public space and cafe occupying the entire ninth floor.

It sets itself apart from traditional department stores by dedicating an entire floor to cultural and artistic experiences, showcasing Hyundai's innovative approach in the retail industry.

This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
