MUUD Architects has created a workplace for the preparation of medicine in Riga, Latvia.
Five huge windows at Brivibas Street let passers-by catch a glimpse of a pharmacist's everyday life, as a result of the new workplace designed by MUUD Architects.
"A stereotype has emerged that making medicine is something to hide, dealt with in dark laboratories, [therefore] one of our goals was to add value to the interior design and to build awareness of this profession," said MUUD Architects.
The designer's biggest challenge in creating the concept was finding a way to preserve and exhibit the magnificent interior of the historic building – while providing a sterile working environment for employees.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace interior (small) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
