F.O.G. Architecture has developed the new Xiaozhuo store in Shanghai, China.

F.O.G. Architecture added playfulness to fashion boutique Xiaozhuo's Shanghai shop with a canvas texture and colourful sewing details.

"We used canvas, plush fabric and texture paint to cover the surface of the wall and columns, creating a texture that sits between linen and leather," said F.O.G.

The raw edges of the canvas, the colourful sewing line details, unpredictable bending clothing racks, zipper-shaped metal door handles and giant buttons can be found throughout the shop that represents the fashion brand's signature design elements.

Traditionally overlooked fitting rooms are moved to the centre of the space to create a unique installation.

This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
