Studio A+S has transformed an old automobile workshop into Zero, a fine dining restaurant in Surat, India.
In five months, the team at Studio A+S breathed new life into a once dysfunctional automobile showroom and workshop and transformed it into Surat's largest fine dining restaurant.
Nearly all of the materials used in the restaurant were sourced from the 100-year-old ancestral home that had been passed on to the client.
This not only adds to the unique character and charm of the space but also showcases an innovative approach to utilising available resources.
"The result is a stunning example of creative design that avoids the pitfalls of a best-out-of-waste mentality," said Studio A+S.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable interior category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
