Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2023 Bentley Lighthouse Award, Bonnie Hvillum is the founder of Copenhagen-based design and research practice Natural Material Studio.

Breaking new ground in material experimentation since 2018, Hvillum and her team continue to innovate and push boundaries when creating bespoke products using their own developed bio-materials.

Hvillum has led projects ranging from an exhibition featuring compostable biofoam seating and flexible textiles made from surplus bricks to a protein bioplastic gift wrap pouch for fashion brand Calvin Klein.

Previous and ongoing clients include Denmark's Designmuseum, architecture practice Snøhetta, lifestyle brand Adidas, restaurant Noma and interior design studio House of Grey, among others.

Bonnie Hvillum has been shortlisted in the Bentley Lighthouse Award category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
