Tom Fereday has designed Cove, an aluminium chair made from recycled material.

The Cove series is a solid recycled cast aluminium chair, lounge and table cast entirely from locally sourced recycled aluminium machine waste.

The material was repurposed from the local Sydney machining industry, and the forms traditionally sand cast were developed from obsolete solid timber prototypes to form casting moulds.

As a result, a reinterpretation of the Cove range as a limited edition sculptural cast aluminium series was created.

This project has been shortlisted in the furniture design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
