Cox Architecture has designed its new Sydney studio in Sydney, Australia.
Cox Architecture's Sydney studio sits within five floors of the Heritage-listed Metcalfe Bond Stores in Tallawoladah.

"Our objective was to do more with less, balancing the poetic with the pragmatic," told Cox.

Sustainability is at the forefront of this project, with a mixed-mode approach to ventilation that combines nature with technology – while restrained interventions allow heritage to be the hero and "minimise the project's embodied energy."

"An experimental nimble workspace allows teams to reconfigure hackable areas, where views across Sydney’s Harbour and towards Jorn Utzon's Opera House provide equal parts inspiration and distraction for staff and visitors alike," added Cox.

This project has been shortlisted in the workplace interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
