Tolila + Gilliland has developed the Gilbert Raby Therapeutic Workshops in Paris, France.
This project consists of a new building to host therapeutic workshops and a day hospital for patients suffering from the troubles of addiction.
Gilbert Raby Therapeutic Workshops is made using an all-wood structure, raw earth brick, bio-sourced wood fibre and cork insulation work to reduce its carbon footprint.
The building is inserted into the slope of the site, giving full access to each of the two levels and programs which function independently of one another.
A wide bioclimatic 'street' organises the central spine of the building, providing a climatic transition space between the exterior and interior and opening views onto the Seine through a stepped amphitheatre at its southern end.
This project has been shortlisted in the health and wellbeing project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
