Core Design Gallery has remodelled Introverse in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

This project was the remodelling of a single-storey semi-detached house in a suburban township that was originally built in the 1980s, just outside of Kuala Lumpur.

Introverse defies social norms and puts new living to the test – a style of living where a home is organised in an introverted manner, contrary to outward-looking homes.

"During the lockdown in 2020, I came across an article about an extreme introvert who, for the first time in her life, felt like she was perceived as normal in the eyes of society," said Core Design Gallery. "Introverse was born out of this social context, where standards and perceptions could be reversed."

This project has been shortlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
