Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2023 designer of the year, Dutch designer Marjan van Aubel.

Marjan van Aubel is an award-winning innovative solar designer who combines the fields of sustainability, design and technology.

Van Aubel has collaborated with global brands such as Lexus, Timberland and Swarovski. Her work is part of permanent collections at MoMA in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.

Notable projects include a tapestry made from transparent photovoltaic cells, a colourful solar panel skylight as part of the Netherlands' pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 and a solar panel light for Sunne.

Marjan van Aubel has been shortlisted in the designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
