Office for Political Innovation has designed Reggio School in Madrid, Spain.
The design of the Reggio School project was intended to awaken a passion for discovery in children.
"The building is thought of as a complex ecosystem that makes it possible for students to direct their own education through a process of self-driven collective experimentation and to empower children's capacity to deal with unpredictable challenges and potentials," said Office for Political Innovation.
The design, construction and use of the building is intended to exceed the paradigm of sustainability to engage with ecology as an approach where environmental impact, more-than-human alliances, material mobilisation, collective governance and pedagogies intersect through architecture.
This project has been shortlisted in the education project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
