Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2023 emerging designer of the year, UK designer Rio Kobayashi is based in London.

Artists, designer and maker Kobayashi uses his Japanese heritage to deconstruct common objects into colourful designs.

Projects by Kobayashi include a dining table with a tuna fish painted on top for Manus Manum Lavat exhibition at London Design Festival and a playful collection named East West.

Rio Kobayashi has been shortlisted in the emerging designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
