Bell Phillips has designed The Tree House in London, United Kingdom.
The Tree House is the centrepiece of Elephant Park – a community space forming the focal point of a London park.
"Trees, nature and wellbeing are integral to the design of Elephant Park and have inspired the design of the pavilion," said Bell Phillips.
The pavilion encircles a mature London Plane tree and incorporates a café kiosk, a bookable, multi-functional internal space and a public roof terrace that takes visitors up into the tree canopy.
The Tree House enriches the experience of the park – offering opportunities to rest under the shade of the dense tree canopy or socialise over a coffee.
This project has been shortlisted in the civic project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
