Adebayo Oke-Lawal
Nigerian designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal is the founder and creative director of the fashion house Orange Culture.
Since launching in 2011 Orange Culture has gained global recognition, with its garments worn by celebrities including Ncuti Gatwa, Dua Lipa and Akon and showcased in runway shows in London, New York and Lagos.
Through his designs, Oke-Lawal aims to challenge societal stereotypes of masculinity and suppressed expressions of Africanism.
All Orange Culture garments are manufactured in Lagos, from ethically sourced Nigerian fabrics. Oke-Lawal is committed to community development, offering employment opportunities and training through his brand. Additionally, Oke-Lawal has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project Painting Your Dreams to inspire young people and mentor aspiring designers.
Oke-Lawal's work has received numerous awards, including being shortlisted for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers and featured in prestigious museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum.
