Hélène Chartier
Hélène Chartier is the director of urban planning and design at sustainable urbanism network C40 Cities.
She works to accelerate sustainable and resilient urban planning policies and design practices in cities globally.
Chartier leads the C40 Land Use Planning Network and the C40 x Jameel Urban Planning Climate Lab which supports cities to integrate climate action in their masterplan and land use policies.
She manages the Green & Thriving Neighbourhoods programme to turn the 15-minute City concept into reality and deliver neighbourhood pilot projects. She also leads Reinventing Cities, a series of competitions engaging with businesses, academics and youth to deliver decarbonised and resilient urban regeneration projects around the world.
Chartier previously served as an advisor to the mayor of Paris, worked for the Paris Urbanism Agency and global consulting firm Arup.
