Keiji Ashizawa
Japan-based architect Keiji Ashizawa is the founder of Keiji Ashizawa Design.
His work ranges from domestic to international architecture and interior projects, as well as designs for furniture manufacturers such as Karimoku and Audo Copenhagen.
Ashizawa is also the representative of furniture brand Ishinomaki Laboratory. The company has local partners in more than ten countries who manufacture and sell the products in their local workshops.
His recent projects include a minimalist retreat with an exposed raw concrete facade, the interiors of The Conran Shop Daikanyama in Tokyo, an oval-shaped cafe with a double-height space and a central staircase and the interiors for five penthouse suites for the Bellustar Tokyo hotel.
The Japanese architect has received multiple awards including the Monocle's 2021 best restaurant design award for Masu Restaurant, and was shortlisted for the home interior of the year category for Dezeen Awards 2023 for Hiroo Residence. He also served as a judge for the Good Design Award in Japan and the iF Design Award.
