Lidewij Edelkoort
Dutch trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort is the founder of agency Trend Union.
Edelkoort is a publisher, humanitarian, educator and exhibition curator. working in design, fashion, food, architecture, beauty, communication, automotive and retail industries.
Trend Union produces trend tools for strategists, designers and marketers for clients including clothing brands Zara and Prada. The trend forecaster released a manifesto ANTI_FASHION to raise awareness about the shifts experienced in the global fashion industry.
In 2020, Edelkoort founded the World Hope Forum, a platform to inspire the creative community to rebuild a better society.
Since 2022, she collaborated with Italian fashion school Polimoda where she has created an innovative new textile masters course called From Farm to Fabric to Fashion.
Edelkoort’s latest publications are Proud South and Uxua Utopia, which celebrate the creative talent of the global south.
Edelkoort was Chairwoman of Design Academy Eindhoven until 2008 before becoming the Dean of Hybrid Design Studies at Parsons School of Design, where she established an MFA Textile masters and New York Textile Month.
