Mae-ling Lokko
Architect and educator Mae-ling Lokko is the founder of Ghanaian sustainable materials and building technology startup Willow Technologies.
Willow Technologies investigates the design, development and application of agricultural by-product use in the building sector.
Lokko holds a masters and PhD in architectural science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelors from Tufts University.
As an assistant professor at Yale University School of Architecture and the Center for Ecosystems in Architecture, she researches the use of agricultural waste for building materials and their role in agricultural and textile cycles for soil health.
Her work has been shown in large museums globally, including New York's Museum of Modern Art, Stockholm's Nobel Prize Museum and Triennale Milano.
