Ozwald Boateng
London-born Ozwald Boateng is a British-Ghanaian fashion designer.
Boateng staged his first catwalk presentation during Paris Fashion Week in 1994 and in 2003 was appointed as the first Creative Director at Givenchy Homme, part of the LVMH, the world’s largest luxury goods conglomerate.
Boateng utilises film as a creative medium and is known for opening each fashion show with a short film depicting the collection. The designer's skills in writing and directing short films have been critically acclaimed and awarded.
Boateng’s innovative approach to design has attracted several high-profile collaborations, such as Wealth managers Coutts & Co., Whisky brand Johnnie Walker, multinational conglomerate Virgin and most recently a collaboration with Airline British Airways and furniture company Poltrona Frau.
The designer's extensive work for film and TV includes Black Panther, The Harder They Fall, The Burial, The Morning Show, Dynasty, Hannibal, Tomorrow Never Dies, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, Ocean's 13, Rush Hour 3 and Dead Man Running.
