Freitag Lab has designed the 30 Years of Freitag: The Donnerstag Weeks exhibition in Zurich, Switzerland.

For their 30th anniversary, the Zurich bag-makers paid a heartfelt tribute to "thank all the imitators who have helped make Freitag something of an original over the years," said Freitag Lab.

This notion especially applies to one of Switzerland's largest supermarkets, which mass-produced a flimsy new plastic bag copy named 'Donnerstag'.

With a limited edition, the F13-D Copy Cat, Freitag transformed the Donnerstag copy from the 90s into an upcycled original.

The one-offs were sold exclusively during the Donnerstag Weeks at their Flagship Store in Zurich, which was converted into a supermarket for the occasion.

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
