Mesura has designed the interiors of Aesop Diagonal in Barcelona, Spain.

The purpose of this project was not to reconstruct but to craft a new structure from discarded, local and limited stone from the only quarry that has ever existed in Barcelona: Montjuic.

"In this way, the conventional design process was reversed—instead of starting with an imagined form and materialising it, we started with materials and reimagined what they could become," said Mesura.

This project's design is rooted in identity and sustainability that uses locally sourced and recycled stones to withstand the test of time.

This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (small) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
