Studio Vincent Architecture and Space Encounters have renovated and extended BD House in Bergen, Netherlands.

BD House is an extension and refurbishment of a modest villa located in Bergen, where the design was done in collaboration with Studio Vincent Architecture and Space Encounters.

"A modest 1950s villa in the village of Bergen proved to be so characteristic that its new residents decided to renovate and extend it, rather than to demolish the house," said Studio Vincent Architecture.

As a result, the design of the BD House is a juxtapositional transformation in which the life of a young family, local cultural heritage and the rich character of the landscape have merged.

This project has been longlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
