Shenzhen Huahui Design has transformed and redesigned the Canal Hub 1958 in Wuxi City, China.
Shenzhen Huahui Design has transformed the Wuxi Iron and Steel Plant into a new cultural and artistic landmark.
The two remaining factories on the site form a clear spatial cross-axis in a mutually perpendicular posture.
They have rich functions and spaces implanted in them while preserving their original positions, achieving a symbiotic relationship between new and old.
On one side of the canal, a waterfront cultural district with scattered shapes and scales has been designed.
Thus, under a clear spatial cross-axis planning strategy, multiple formats and forms constitute an extremely rich spatial experience.
This project has been longlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
