3XN has designed the Forskaren centre in Stockholm, Sweden.
Forskaren is a new centre for health and life sciences that brings together spaces for industry, research, academia and the public in a striking new building.
Defined by its spiralling structure and large inner atrium, the 24,000-metre-square building will house laboratories, offices, and co-working spaces.
Its circular shape was designed to promote collaboration among researchers, scientists, and the public.
Sited prominently in the heart of Stockholm's Hagastaden district – an emerging quarter for innovation and entrepreneurship in health and life sciences – the landmark building provides a centre of activity, a knowledge-sharing forum and a public amenity for the whole district.
This project has been longlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
