Chain + Siman has renovated Hotel Avándro in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
The Hotel Avándaro, originally opened in 1958, underwent a comprehensive remodelling and expansion to meet the growing demand from convention groups.
The project created distinct spaces for conventioneers and regular guests, blending historical elements like sloping roofs and wooden beams with modern design touches.
Sustainability was a priority, with restored elements, energy-efficient systems, solar panels and rainwater collection.
Using locally sourced materials, the design harmoniously integrated with the natural and urban surroundings.
This renovation enhanced guest experiences, promoted environmental responsibility and successfully balanced heritage preservation with modern functionality, making it a model for innovative and sustainable hotel design.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
