Architect George and Marsh to Mansion have developed the House in Surry Hills, Australia.
The House in Surry Hills provides a series of sculptural pavilions in an urban garden; with colour used to define function and personality.
The design for the garden pavilions was conceived as a pair of vaulted sculptural forms that sought to soften the dominance of a large three-storey brick wall that ran along the entire southern edge of the property.
Detached from the original terrace, the sculptural additions are separated by small linkways and garden spaces.
These new additions include living areas, office spaces and private sleeping quarters.
This project has been longlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
