Ivan Bravo Arquitectos has designed the Humo House in Santiago, Chile.

On a lakeside in the south of Chile, the Humo House is an exercise of domestic dichotomies.

Starting from an 11-metre cube with two faces split in half, the entire project revolves around the articulation of opposing pairs.

Two large facades open to the site and distant views of the lake; two smaller ones are almost entirely blind and shelter the access in the lower corner.

One half is a large triple-height public space, while the other half's rooms are just large enough to accommodate its dwellers.

This project has been longlisted in the house (rural) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
