Bureau has designed Maison Molaire in Geneva, Switzerland.

Adapting an existing building to new configurations is a fundamental aspect of contemporary architecture facing the climate crisis.

Maison Molaire is a project concerned with the ways and spaces in which people live together today.

"The aim is to accommodate the flow of human life, to keep the possibilities of spatial evolution open to different family configurations and transformations," said Bureau.

The spatial intervention is guided by openness and flexibility, by a simple form of materialisation.

The predominant aesthetic is marked by transparency, wood, tiles, textiles and a ceiling that has been left as it was, preserving the memory of the place.

This project has been longlisted in the residential interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
