Barry Wark Architecture has designed Nadarra, a wall made of 3D-printed sand at The Dubai Museum of Future.

Nadarra is part of its permanent collection displaying innovative construction materials for the future of the built environment.

This project envisions the potential for sand printing to become part of circular material systems, with the fabricated elements able to be recycled and reformed into new ones.

Nadarra is inspired by contemporary ecological thought, which promotes notions of interconnectedness over separation.

By ambiguously expressing qualities of both the natural and the artifactual, it highlights that these established categories might no longer be so easily defined.

This project has been longlisted in the surface design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
