Note Architects has developed an office for Nomura Sanko in Shinagawa-Ku Yokyo, Japan.
This project, located near a nostalgic shopping street in Shinagawa City, Japan, was designed for a locally-based construction company.
In planning, it was intended that the office would be open to the community, in an effort to build a stronger sense of local community.
By reconstructing the Hangen no Ma – lined with pillars 910 metres wide – as a tangential line connecting the city, this project has built a diverse relationship with the ever-changing city.
"We realised a way of connection unique to this city by referring to Japan's traditional boundaries," said Note Architects.
This project has been longlisted in the workplace project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
