IDEO's Thomas Overthun and Clark Scheffy have collaborated to create Pallana, a six-ring suspension light for Moooi.

The Pallana light brings as much whimsy as functionality to your dining table or conference room.

"[When] imagining the fixture, we thought, what if we take simple, basic shapes and make them look as though they've been tossed up in the air?" said IDEO.

That question helped infuse the design with a sense of weightlessness and motion.

The LED ring lights are finished in powder-coated aluminium and attached to a metal tube upholstered in a knitted fabric.

"We also introduced a clever 360-degree joint that allows you to effortlessly adjust the six powerful light rings, adapting to your desired ambience throughout the day," added IDEO.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
