Schweizer Paraplegiker Zentrum has designed ParaVerse, an AI-powered eye control device.
The Schweizer Paraplegiker Zentrum (Swiss Paraplegic Centre) is developing a platform that will allow tetraplegics and people with limited hand functions to have barrier-free access to the digital world.
Those affected can interact in the ParaVerse platform using XR glasses using only eye control.
Users can surf the web, watch YouTube videos and contact their loved ones via the messenger app.
All this without using their hands or voice, which is particularly beneficial for newly injured people.
The caregiver only needs to assist in putting on the glasses; which will increase independence and give those affected a large portion of their privacy back.
This project has been longlisted in the product design (health and wellbeing) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
