Forest Foundry has created Pineglass, a sustainable alternative to traditional glass packaging.

Crafted from renewable pine resin and cellulose microfibers, Pineglass provides transparency, waterproofing, antibacterial properties, food safety, recyclability and full biodegradability.

"Our innovative manufacturing process not only significantly reduces energy consumption compared to traditional glass but also supports local communities and aids in forest conservation," said Forest Foundry.

Pineglass is instrumental in achieving a NetZero product footprint with its high carbon sequestration capacity.

Moreover, by requiring 15% less energy and having a 35% lower density than traditional glass, Pineglass substantially reduces logistics costs, paving the way for a more sustainable future in the packaging industry.

This project has been longlisted in the material innovation category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
