Kim Lewis Designs has renovated and redesigned the Poeta Restaurant in Texas, United States.

This project is a renovation of a former restaurant on the ground floor of a 15-room boutique hotel in the historic 11th Street district of East Austin.

Kim Lewis Designs preserved the building's modern exterior while transforming the interior dining and bar into a warm space with Golden Age charm.

Opposing elements are highlighted throughout; a salvaged 1900s Chicago brownstone wood door was installed into a modern concrete entryway and a vintage wood piano sits in front of a board-formed wall.

A retrofitted antique bar back adorns the existing minimalist bar top while Indian rosewood antique doors are paired with fringed velvet pendants.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
