MRK Office has designed the Pordarom Ecotourism Complex in Tonekabon, Iran.
In Tonekabon, there is a temporary complex called Pordarom, which is located at a height overlooking the rice fields of the village.
"The employer asked us for a temporary and unceremonious space among the rice fields to perform the initial steps of welcoming the guests and then entering the accommodation," said MRK Office.
By further analysing the project's local location and the site's features, other additional uses included rest spaces, work for women and farmers, and an educational and children's play area.
The complex can also be used as the starting and finishing point for racing competitions.
This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
