Soek Arquitetura has designed Praia JK Sports Complex in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Situated amongst the country's most important commercial and financial centres, the sports complex design assembles industrialised and prefabricated building solutions and components to create a two-story structure that houses leisure, resting and utility areas.
The modular steel structure occupies a vacant lot that was previously used as parking and will become the site for the construction of a high-rise, as defined by the city’s planning guidelines, at which point it will be disassembled and have its components sold and repurposed.
The project combines steel components and organic elements generating a harmonious arrangement of urbanity and nature.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
