Leong Leong has designed Ray Philly in Pennsylvania, United States.
Ray Philly is the inaugural location for Ray, a development brand founded by Dasha Zhukova focused on making art and design a part of everyday life through ground-up apartment buildings for the creative community.
Ray Philly's 9,570-square-metre building features 110 apartments, six artist studios, amenities geared toward creative living, and public spaces for art-related programming.
The materiality of the building's facades references the neighboring historic industrial buildings of the Old Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia.
Its unique hand-split brick facade is a gesture that is both contextual and contemporary through its attention to craft.
This project has been longlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
