Studio Gang has developed the addition of the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, United States.

The Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation is a major addition to the American Museum of Natural History designed to amplify the museum's intellectual impact through experiential architecture that encourages exploration.

Providing new exhibitions, education, collections and research spaces, the Richard Gilder Center brings essential yet previously back-of-house functions into public view for the first time.

This approach gives visitors new insight into the full breadth of the Museum's diverse collections and active scientific research.

The arrival of the Richard Gilder Center has also established a new museum entrance and created dozens of new links between existing buildings, improving visitor flow and overall functionality.

This project has been longlisted in the cultural project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
