Seear-Budd Ross has developed the RK Residence in Wellington, New Zealand.

Nestled between native-covered hills and Wellington's sweeping harbour sits RK Residence – a refined pairing of hipped pavilions with a landscaped courtyard on the coast.

This project is one of refinement and clarity that celebrates local materiality, the design vernacular of its neighbours and the craft of building.

"Like many projects, the clients were unique and driven, in this case, they were also the builders," said Seear-Budd Ross.

"The clients sought a piece of architecture that demonstrated their ability to, alongside the architects, craft structures and spaces that lead to memorable, calming and pure experiences grounded by people and place."

This project has been longlisted in the house (urban) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
