Luxury Frontiers has created and developed The Boma at Madwaleni River Lodge for Babanango Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Luxury Frontiers was tasked with designing an under-the-stars dining experience at Babanango Game Reserve in South Africa's KwaZulu Natal – said to have undergone one of Southern Africa's most ambitious rewilding projects.

The design was guided by the rich cultural tapestry surrounding the reserve while aiming to harmoniously blend into the natural environment.

The Boma is an authentic addition to an African safari experience, offering a nature-immersed setting for dining, stargazing and cultural events.

Inspired by traditional Zulu huts, the curved walls form a circular shape and are handwoven by women from the community using invasive black wattle saplings removed from the reserve.

This project has been longlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
