Arno Hoogland has redesigned the interiors of The Medallion Extended Stay Hotel in Wisconsin, United States.
Designer Arno Hoogland turned to the diamond-shaped brickwork on the building's facade as inspiration for the interior design of The Medallion.
By stretching, texturing and reconfiguring the diamond shape, Arno created a visual language specifically for The Medallion, which features 21 extended-stay units.
Frank Lloyd Wright's style, colour palette, visual language and architectural philosophy influenced Arno’s decisions during the design process.
Wright, a Wisconsin architect, viewed his projects as "Gesamtkunstwerk" – an architectural philosophy in which all elements are designed in harmony with each other.
This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short-stay interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
