Tom Stuart-Smith Studio has designed the Reflection Garden in London, United Kingdom.

This previously underused garden sits in a challenging location, surrounded by roads, adjacent to Grade I-listed St Paul's Cathedral and on top of an existing basement.

The Reflection Garden's sensitive redesign has increased year-round use and enhanced biodiversity.

The team designed a 65-square-metre reflection pool in the heart of the garden, that holds a mirror to the sky and captures remarkable reflections of St Paul's Cathedral, strengthening the garden’s connection to its historic surroundings.

The garden's planting offers a rich and multi-layered experience that balances simplicity and complexity, providing year-round interest and ground coverage.

This project has been longlisted in the landscape and urban design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
