Familien Kvistad has renovated the Yellow House in the Apple Garden in Oslo, Norway.
In a green neighbourhood adorned with lush foliage stood a melancholic, ageing house nestled within a delightful apple tree garden in Oslo.
Since its construction in 1950, it has endured a string of regrettable renovations, relinquishing its charm – until a new family arrived, breathing new vitality into it with the help of local designers, Familien Kvistad.
Despite constraints imposed by local regulations requiring the preservation of its foundation and exterior, the house now radiates with renewed vigour, having been reimagined with an innovative layout, bespoke furnishings and a cheerful colour scheme.
This project has been longlisted in the residential interior category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
