Keiji Takeuchi Design Office has designed the Walking Sticks & Canes exhibition in Milan, Italy.

This exhibition was held at an Italian national institution, the Triennale Milano, during Milan Design Week 2024.

It aimed to raise a question of the true purpose and possibility of design as an initiative in our society to raise the quality of life.

Walking sticks and canes are universal and inclusive objects; anyone from children to older adults has their stories with them.

"By creating this show, we aimed to make the audience see for themselves and question if these objects should still be seen with pity or a stigma," said Keiji Takeuchi Design Office.

"To further explore this potential, we showcased 18 examples by designers to share their thoughts on this subject, wishing to broaden our general awareness of this essential tool."

This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
