Nippon Design Center has designed the website for Kowloon Type.

Moeko Yamaguchi and Takehito Goto from Nippon Design Center have designed the website for Kowloon Type, a type foundry in Hong Kong that envisions enriching reading experiences of East Asian culture through typeface designs.

Inspired by a Japanese manuscript paper, the screen places the menu and logo at the centre of the page to incorporate the culture of East Asia and the uniqueness of paper media.

The key visual movie, showcasing local scenes filmed in Hong Kong, where Kowloon Type's typefaces are used, further defines the cultural identity.

This project has been longlisted in the graphic design category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
