Bilgin Architects has designed and developed a solar farm hub, Central Control Building, in Konya, Turkey.
The Central Control Building serves as the technological nerve centre for the largest solar power plant in Turkey, boasting a capacity of 1,350 MWp.
Designed by Bilgin Architects, the building not only fulfils its primary function of managing plant operations but also embodies sustainable energy principles.
The facades, with high reflectance levels and dynamic colour-changing properties, integrate harmoniously with the desert landscape.
The building's detached design offers unique experiential spaces at the intersection of humans, nature and technology, including a lush oasis courtyard that creates a sustainable microclimate within the arid environment.
This project has been shortlisted in the infrastructure and transport project category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
