Tarkett has designed iQ Loop, a vinyl collection made from recycled waste.
iQ Loop is homogenous vinyl flooring for commercial use, often found in hospitals, schools and other public buildings with high performance and resilience demands.
"How much of a recycled commodity can you put in a material and still get a desirable design?" said Tarkett.
"That question inspired [our] team at the vinyl factory in Ronneby to start experimenting on recycled materials."
The result was iQ Loop, a vinyl collection designed by Note Design Studio made from a minimum of 65% recycled post-consumer waste (only offcuts and old floors from Tarkett).
"To create an incentive for recycling, we mainly offer the collection to these customers who contribute," added Tarkett.
This project has been shortlisted in the sustainable design (building product) category of Dezeen Awards 2024.
